Unifying commitment for the critically endangered Mekong dolphins

The Commission for Dolphin Conservation and Development of Mekong River Dolphin Ecotourism Zone (Dolphin Commission), the Fisheries Administration of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and WWF have jointly declared their commitment to work together to develop a strategy by April 2012 for collaborative conservation of Irrawaddy dolphins in the Mekong River of Cambodia, including the dolphins in transboundary pool at Cambodia-Lao PDR border.

Cambodia: Release peaceful protesters detained over forced eviction

The Cambodian authorities must immediately release 24 women and six children detained yesterday while peacefully protesting their forced eviction. The group of 30 were arrested while protesting last week’s violent forced eviction of some 300 families from the poor Borei Keila neighbourhood of Phnom Penh.
