14 donors donated 60 million dollars to poverty reduction program
Phnom Penh—The total donation which is from 14 donators is amount $60. This great amount of money is planned to use for 4 years for poverty reduction purpose implemented from August 2006 to December 2010 covering 707 communes.
The main aim of this program is to reduce poverty in the rural area for both short-term and long-term period as well as to enhance the living standard of 4 million people in the targeted area.
General Director of Department of Ministry of Interior Soc Setha mentioned that of all the 60 million dollars, 20 million dollars come from Danida and DFID organization for natural reservation and living standard improvement. The rest of 40 million dollars come from other donors and organizations. Setha continued that 60 million dollars will be spent on 3 important projects.
