49-year-old woman commits suicide in the pagoda

Kampongcham Province: A 49-year-old woman committed suicide by hanging herself on 18 December 2007 in Botom Rattanak Deydus pagoda in Veal Vong commune, Kampongcham district. The victim known as Chou Srey lived in Phnom Penh’s Mean Chay district, police said. The victim’s family said that before the incident, she had asked 30.000 Riel from her child. Then she disappeared and their family tried to look for her, but they did not see her. They did hear from her until Veal Vong police used the dead woman’s phone to call her husband in Phnom Penh. The victim’s family has not told what caused she did that, but it is concluded that maybe she had family problem.
