53-Year-Old Vietnamese Man Held More than two Years in Prison

Kandal Pronvince: A 53-year-old Vietnamese man, who held more than two years in jail for intentional killing his wife, has just been sentenced 10 years in prison by Kandal provincial court on13 November 2007. The suspect Le Yang Nguk lives in Koh Thom district’s Sompov Loun commune, and his wife, Yor Thy Yong, 54, was stabbed seven times to death with a sharp knife on 11 September 2005. The killer confessed that he killed his wife because she had asked him for divorce. Oen Bopha, the judge, said that the lateness to sentence the defendant because we do not have the translator, the accused can not speak Khmer language.
