92 Die, 427 Injured in Kampong Thom in Nine Months

September 27, 2007: Kampong Thom like other provinces, in which traffic accidents are increasing significantly. According to traffic accident data of skilled police, in the first nine months of 2007 there were 277 accident cases happened in Kampong Thom which caused 92 people died and 427 injured. Comparing to the number in the same period in 2006, 182 cases occurred and made 52 people die and 313 injure.
Mr. Meas Chanthorn, director of provincial ground traffic department, said that traffic accident is still the concern issue which increasing subsequently. It causes of some factors such as vehicle’s owner, vehicles, route and weather factor but vehicle’s owner is the main factor. They drive motorcycles too fast, drive with drunkenness, or drivers are not tolerant.
