A Boat collapses, Three Students Die

Kampongcham Province: A small ferry boat, which contained more than 40 of Koh Sotoen students, collapsed at 6:30am on 2 November 2007 after it departed approximatey 20 meters, causing three students drowned. The ferry boat collapsed because it had overloaded, said Koh Mith commone police official. The dead students known as Hort Srey Mao, 17, Pheap Phearun, 18, Dou Maly, 10, lived in Koh Proloung village, Kampong Siem district’s Koh Mith commune, he added. The ferry boat owner Soy Som Ang, 28, was detained after the incident, he added.
