A Deaf-Mute Girl Hangs herself

Phnom Penh: A deaf and mute woman was found dead in her house at 6 am on Saturday in Prek Rang village, Russeykeo district’s Prek Tasek commune. The dead girl known as Moeun Nov, 20, committed suicide in her house when she was her home alone, said police. Her parents told police that after she took her cows to a local hill to avoid flood, her mother made her return home in order that the parents went to sleep at the hill to look after the cows. Meanwhile, she seemed to be very angry with her parents who forced her to sleep at home because she wanted to stay at the hill, too. After checking her corpse, police concluded that she was resentful at her parents so she committed suicide, not murder.
