A Luxurious Timber Containing Van Overturns

Stung Treng Province: A van, which transported luxurious logs, overturned after one of its front wheels was cut in Ou Porng Mon village, Stung Treng district’s Stung Treng commune. No one known that the van contained illegal luxurious timber until it turned upside down. About 30 minutes after the accident, Ya Chea, the timber owner, continuously transported the wood by a few cars to Kratie province. All kinds of police officers came to the scene, but they did not confiscate the luxurious timber. Source said that the timber owner gave money to all related police officers. At least five to ten cars transported luxurious timber from Stung Treng province per day.
