A Schoolboy taken hostage and killed

Phnom Penh: A 13-year-old boy, who was taken hostage on 8 December 2007, found dead in a pool in Bra Chum Vong pagoda at the same day, the source said. The boy known as Khiev Maly Panha Rang, alias A Koe, studied in Boeng Keng Kang middle school and lived in Cham Kar Mon district’s Boeng Keng Kang III commune. The kidnaper had phoned the victim’s father, who is the official of ministry of commerce, and demanded 3 000 US dollars from him. He absolutely worried about his son, but he did not have money. Then he informed police to intervene. He waited for the kidnaper’ calling for the second time. Unfortunately, he son was killed.
