Max Doherty’s first film (2007, 22mins) takes a glance at the Karamajong, semi-nomadic people of northeastern Uganda, which have been resisting integration into the Ugandan State for decades. Even before the Ugandan Army offensive, their region was in a state of ongoing conflict between cattle herding tribes from three countries that systematically raided each other for animals. The filmmaker will be present and hold a Q&A, followed by Barbet Schroeder’s chilling documentary “GENERAL IDI AMIN DADA” (1974, 90mins), who became known as the 'Butcher of Uganda' for his brutal rule whilst president in the 1970s. the film is on Wednesday (10-03-10) at seven
