An Insidious And Persistent Danger: Artists Vs. Landmines
Monday, February 01, 2010
Phnom Penh: Meta House on Friday at seven pm is proud to present international and Cambodian artists with a cause: Renowned sculptor Blake Ward (“Adopt-a-Minefield”) will unveil his new video installation "BURNING BUDDHA” and hold a talk on human rights and human rights abuses. His presentation is followed by Ian White’s new films “CLEARING FOR RESULTS” (2009, 15mins) about Cambodian artists, who visited mine affected communities and follow mine clearing teams in 2009 under the roof of UNDP. Their experiences are reflected in the artwork they produced after their trip, which led to an exhibition at Bophana Center Phnom Penh. UNDP representatives and Khmer artists will join the screening and hold a Q&A.
