Article 114 of the Labor Law Makes Hun Sen pushed the National Assembly to Amend

On Tuesday morning Prim Minister Hun Sen said that the requiring for labor law amendment had been causing many trade unions’ great opposition.
In Article 114, the night time workers get only the level of 200% of their usual wage. But because of the amendment, the workers now will be added 130%. This amendment will strongly make the workers’ benefits and it is the demand by the government and the employers.
The suffering to Khmer workers from their boss and factory owners caused many workers always has to show their upset and forcing workers to work overtime without paying fit to the workers, as well other inhumane acts.
Mr. Chea Mony, the president of the Free Trade Union of Workers of the Kingdom of Cambodia, the trade union tries hard to defend those workers’ benefits. It is not possible that the workers might be able to stay at this, so it will have demonstrations, if the National Assembly amends Article 114 of the Labor Law. Mr. Chea Mony added that in order to increase the foreign investors, Cambodia should produce the anti-corruption law and throw out any demand that causes to loss workers’ benefits.
