Australian man arrested for having sex with underage girls

Phnom Penh: On February 08, 2012 Banteay Meanchey provincial anti-human trafficking and juvenile protection police Major Sith Los (012 636 886) arrested a Korean-Australian national Mr. Charles Sohn, 38, on suspicion of having sex with two underage girls aged 06 and 10 years and taking naked pictures. The arrest took place at Sohn’s rented house in Kbal Koh village, municipality of Poipet, Banteay Meanchey Province.

According to the girls, Charles Sohn lured them into his house, performed sexual acts on them and took their naked photos. He allowed the girls to play games on his Ipod and offered cookies and candy to the girls to gain their trust and keep them silent. A neighbor heard a girl crying in the suspect’s house, opened the door and saw Sohn taking on his pants, while the 6 year-old girl was crying naked. 

According to police, numerous condoms, DVDs and catalogues containing child pornographic movies and photographs were seized.

Sohn is now being detained at provincial police custody for further investigation and will be expectedly sent to court tomorrow for charges.  At this stage, police has charged him with sexual intercourse with minor under 15 years and he will face imprisonment of 5-10 years in prison if found guilty.
