Bereaved Family Gets less Compensation than the Injurer’s

Kampong Chnang Province: A garment worker died immediately at the scene in a traffic accident on March 7 on the national route 5. The dead victim Leng Savy, 23, drove a motorbike with 24-year-old Van Sopheap, who was seriously injured. Police said that the case was solved. The Bereaved family got 1500 US dollars as the compensation, but the injured got 4 000 US dollars. Police also said that the dead family received only 1000 US dollars because the middle man and traffic police took 500 $. One said that this not justice for the dead victim.
