Big Breast Patient Receives Donations

Phnom Penh: A 14 year-old woman VANN Chan Dara, a daughter of a farmer family in Tropaint Nop, Kraing Makak Commune, Ang Snoul District and Kandal Province who developed hypertrophy of the breast—a rare disease which leads to enlargement of breasts known as Gigantomastie in medical term—received a surgery treatment in Khmer Soviet Friendship Hospital from expert medical doctors. Up on receiving this new through a local new paper, on 30 Dec. 2011, H.E Governor assigned his assistants Mrs. TEMA Vichekal and Mr. LONG Dimanche to bring 1,000,000.00 Riels as his personal budget and another 700,000.00 Riels from Cambodian Youth Association, Phnom Penh Capital Hall branch, to the young lady who is in medical care at the hospital after the successful surgery.
According to Medical Dr. TON Phaly, Deputy Head of Khmer Soviet Friendship Hospital, this Gigantomastie disease has led to the increase weigh of both sides of the breasts up to 10 Kg. However, it is not a cancer. The disease had developed since July 2011 and her family members have just sent her to this hospital in mid-December.
After a critical analyse, both Khmer and French medical Dr. successfully carried out medical surgery on 22nd December 2011. The lady could safely return home 15 days later after this operation. Dr. additionally stressed that so far there have been three patients already of such disease who received operation in this hospital and he himself is also the one of doctors who involved in this operating.
In that occasion, Mrs. TEMA Vichekal conveyed a warm wishing message from H.E Governor and Madam to the unfortunate girl in hope for her to fully recover in soonest time. Furthermore, the assistant crew was so thrilled for the girl's successful operation and for her family members and wishes the girl a full recovery soon in order to go back home and school again.
