Bird flu bursts in Ponhear Krek

Phnom Penh: On 6th April, a girl from Ponhear Krek was declared as the 7th victim from bird flu in Cambodia whereas there were 73 people died in Indonesia.In a joint declaration, WHO and Ministry of Health stated that the 7th victim from bird flu was a 13-year-old girl. Her blood testing at Pasteur Institute showing the positive result of H5N1 virus.
This was the first death by bird flu since the last death in April 2006.
