Cambodia and Thailand Improve the Border Negotiation

Phnom Penh: Thai and Cambodian Foreign Affairs Ministers on Monday agreed to speed up the negotiation of the border dispute as soon as it is possible. Furthermore, Thai-Cambodian Border Committee will meet each other on February 2nd and 4th in order to start negotiating the long border issue. Foreign affairs Officers said that the border negotiation is going to take place in Thailand. Thai and Cambodian Ministers of nation defense ministry are also planning to have the bilateral talks in order to withdraw the troops from Preah Vihear Pagoda. The armed confrontation between Thai and Cambodia happened on the July 15th in 2008 shortly after Thai soldiers had invaded Cambodian territory at Preah Vihea pagoda.
