Cambodia lacks the budget to become the rice exporter

Phnom Penh: Rice producers in Cambodia said that the goal to make Cambodia to be the rice exporter can be achieved by 2009 or later when we we have enough budget to buy rice from farmers.Pu Puy, chief of Cambodia Rice Mill Association said on 28 May that
Cambodia can become the rice exporter in 2 years later but the most important things that all the rice mills have to have enough money to buy the rice from farmers. The Ministry of Agriculture claims that Cambodia exports about 1 million ton of rice a year. However, Cambodia does not become the world rice exporter.
