Cambodian People Lack Iron Substance, Vitamin A

September 25, 2007: Nutrition lack is still a major problem for Cambodia and it is the topic that the Health Ministry has to promote especially to under 5-year-old children and women after giving birth.
Mr. Eng Hout, State secretary of Health Ministry, said at a seminar of introduction to provide iron substance that food security, nutrition, iron substance and A-vitamin lack in food are happening simultaneously with shortage of protein and energy. According to information from Health Ministry in 2006, 79 percent of children and 53% of women after giving birth faced A-vitamin lack.
