Cambodian police personnel graduate in IT training to produce ID card

A certificate awarding ceremony will be held for staff members of the Ministry of Interior and the National Police Commissariat, who have completed a two-month Information Technology course. Journalists are cordially invited to witness this event which will be held at place and time indicated above.
H.E. Yun Chhunny, Deputy General Police Commissioner, and Elena Tischenko, UNDP Country Director, will preside over the ceremony and give keynote speeches.
Seventy-six staff members of the Ministry of Interior responsible for the National ID Card Programme in 24 provinces and municipalities of Cambodia have completed the Information Technology course which was conducted with the support of UNDP’s Strengthening Democracy and Electoral Processes in Cambodia Project (SDEP) and implemented by the Cambodian partner KhmerDev.
The capacity development Initiative aimed to enhance MoI personnel’s ability in managing mobile computer-based ID card data capturing units, being provided by UNDP under the same initiative, to produce and renew ID card for the Cambodian citizens.
Under this initiative, UNDP has procured IT equipment worth US$700,000 which will be handed over to the MoI. At this ceremony, H.E. Yun Chunny and Ms. Tischenko will also sign and exchange documents marking the hand-over of the equipment.
