Concert: Phnom Penh Hippie Orchestra
Saturday, October 02, 2010
Phnom Penh: On Saturday this week there will be a concert “Phnom Penh Hippie Orchestra”. As times are changing so does the music scene in Phnom Penh: musicians come and go with their styles, bands, repertories and also you - our audience. As of now let’s direct your attention on the Phnom Penh Hippie Orchestra. Vitally alive almost 12 musicians from each continent perform a new piece of traditional and contemporary World Folk Music. Back to the Roots the Phnom Penh Hippie Orchestra is the extraordinary unplugged – yes, you read correctly – unplugged alternative to existing “Barang”-bands in town and around. The songs are as diverse as the angles are the musicians come from and of course: their instruments! At least –nobody could keep his feet calm right under the table at Eastern European, Arabian, Jewish, Middle and North-American Traditionals. It is a free entrance concert at the Chinese House
