EXHIBITION OPENING: “A GOOD FRIEND IS HARD TO FIND”

Phno Penh: At Meta House on Tuesday (12-01-10) there will be an exhibition called“A Good Friend is Hard to Find”. First presented at Reyum Gallery in January 2006 this series of 30 canvases are an intimate and loving look at the relationship between the late Ingrid Muan, an important curator and historian of Khmer culture, and Cambodia’s preeminent painter Svay Ken, who died late last year. The level of intensity and understanding between these two exceptional people, who both played crucial roles in the development of Khmer contemporary culture, is reflected in Svay Ken’s comment, “It seemed as though we had known each other in a previous life.”
