Father and Son Die While Digging on Tone Mine

Battambang Province: A poor farmer Sum Un, 51, and his son Sum Charch, 17, died while the father was digging to make path for their cart. The event happened at 1:30 p.m. on 7-April-07 at Anlong Mean point in Kork Rorkha village, Doun Bar commune, Kous Kralar district, Battambang.

Doun Bar commune’s police said that the two victims rode on an oxen wooden cart (cart carried by two oxen) to the field. When they arrived at Anlong Mean point, there was no path for them to go on so the father Sum Un dug to make the cart path. As the father was digging, a tone mine exploded.
