First Motor Factory Opened in Phnom Penh

Phnom Penh: "It is a tremendous achievement because we changed the area, located in Sangkat Kanthort, Khan Por Sen Chey, to be a Special Economic Zone of harmonization between the industrialized zone and farmers in generation of employment opportunities” said the Kingdom’s Premire Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo HUN Sen during an inauguration of small-sized motor factory belongs to Japan’s Minebea Co., Ltd on 17th December 2011 in Khan Por Sen Chey, Phnom Penh. The event was also honorably participated by H.E MAKINO SEISHU, Vice Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan.
Addressing in that occasion, H.E Governor KEP Chuktema stated that this factory is another accomplishment, resulted from acknowledge-able and realistic guidance of Samdech Techo, especially historical successes which prompt local and international investors to put a lot of investment with the Royal Government in order to restore and build infrastructures and business centers including many factories establishment in Phnom Penh as well. These are not only a sustainable development, but a high prestige with equal rights with other countries in the globe in terms of regional and global management in all sectors.
In the special economic zone, located on the land area of 360h, there have been 21 companies currently in operation which indicate that Phnom Penh is not only a destination for tourists but also for major companies investment such as small-sized motor factory of Japan’s Minebea Co., Ltd, a well-known one in the globe to provide jobs for Cambodian people.
Mr. Yoshihisa Kainuma, Minibea’s CEO, thanks the Royal Government led by Samdech Techo for giving opportunity and 5 years exclusive rights to the company which illustrates that Cambodia is stepping forward international market competition to develop its economy.
Addressing to participants, Samdech Techo said that the establishment of small-sized motor factory marks a competition effort in response to a promise made by two parties, Cambodia-Japan, and it is also considered as one of the successes because this factory already generated 1,200 local employments. Therefore, we must attract more technologies for effective economic growth which play a major role to improve livelihood. Samdech welcomed and evaluated the area that, Sangkat Kanthort, Khan Por Sen Chey, before it was not so productive, but now it has become a special zone for robust potentiality. In the name of Prime Minister and as the Chairman of this Special Economic Zone, we will succeed the works. Finally, Samdech cut red ribbon to officially inaugurate the factory. (CityHall)
