Former Soldier Leader in Pol Pot Regime Dies

Phnom Penh: 75-year-old Som Met, former soldier leader in South west area of Pol Pot Regime, died of high blood pressure and diabetes at 9:40pm on 15 February 2008 at Calmette Hospital. He was arrested by government for abduction and killing three foreigners (French, English, and Australian) in 1994, but Som Met denied the accusation. He used to confirm that he was at a hospital in Thailand at the time.
