Girl Commits Suicide for Love Affair, Police Say

Phnom Penh: An 18-year-old girl was attempted to commit suicide by jumping into the water at Chov Chanva bridge at around 8:30 p.m. on Friday last week, police officer said. Srey Net walked crying on the bridge. Meanwhile, the bridge’s guard took her to the office to question. In front of police, she recounted that she did not want to live any more, her parents strongly blamed her after she had run away from her house and lived with her common law husband for three months, who worked for an ice enterprise in Russey Keo district’s Chrov Changva commune, police added.
