Informal Result of Commune Election: CPP wins 1,592 communes, SRP 27, Funcinpec 2

Phnom Penh Capital City: Cambodian’s People Party (CPP) announced that he has succeeded over 1,592 communes among all communes 1,621. CPP’s spokesman Khieu Kanharith implied that CPP got far success. Sam Rainsy Party (SRP) is in the second level, but far from CPP.
Mr. Sam Rainsy claimed that hi party wins 27 communes is the double increase compared to commune administration until now. He finds that this result eventually fill his party with good standing for power separation in the 2008 national election. Norodom Ranariddh Party (NRP) did not get any voice. The formal result of the commune election will be officially issued on 24-April-07. The recent election campaign did not have serious violence compared to 2002 election (200 died).
Until 2-April-07 National Election Committee (NEC) has proclaimed contemporary result of the commune election in first 7 towns and provinces after getting results from those.
