KR legacy Screened

Phnom Pneh: There will be a screening of two great documentaries about the KR legacy: “TERROR’S ADVOCATE” and "THE CONSCIENCE OF NHEM EM" by US filmmaker Steven Okazaki, nominated for an Oscar in 2009. Barbet Schroeder's stunning documentary TERROR'S ADVOCATE (2007, 135mins) is a history of world terrorist movement as told through the story of the enigmatic lawyer Jacques Vergés, who is defending Khieu Samphan at the ongoing Khmer Rouge trial in Phnom Penh. The famous French director takes us down history's darkest paths in his attempt to illuminate the mystery behind Vergés. The screening is on Wednesday (20-10-10)
