Laos to host 1st ASEAN Concert

(KPL) The first ASEAN Concert will be held in Vientiane with the participation of artists from 10 member states of the Association of the Southeast Asian Nations namely Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. The concert is will be held at the National Cultural Hall on January 21, 2012 between 20:00 and 23:00 hours.
The entry is free for press people, 50,000-100,000 kip for a general public member, a press conference held last Thursday at the Lao Journalists Association was told. ?The event is to enhance the cooperation and relations among ASEAN member states to promote their cultural exchange and celebrate the 36th anniversary of the Lao People?s Democratic Republic, and late President Kaysone Phomvihane?s birth anniversary, to promote culture and tourism in the region,? said Director of Fine Arts Department, Mr. Saysavath Singnamvong.
Present at the press conference were Head of Department of Performing Arts, Ministry of Information and Culture, Mr. Saysavath Singnamvong, Deputy Office Head of Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, Mr. Thongbay Phothisane, representatives of the Valentine Music and the Banque Pour Le Commerce Exterieur Lao Public.
