Kratie Province: Chet Borey district police on Friday last week apprehended a 46-year-old man on suspicion of raping a woman at a ferry dock, in Kratie province. The 18-year-old woman accompanied the suspect, who is a tobacconist, to visit her relatives in Chet Borey district. Unfortunately, there was no ferry boat to cross a river when they arrived at the ferry dock at around 11 p.m. Meanwhile, the man lured to rape and threatened to strangle her if she disagreed with him. He managed to rape her two times, police said on Sunday last week. About one hour later a patrolling policeman met them. They looked suspicious, so the police man forced them to his station, where the tobacconist confessed to the rape case. Police said that the man would be sent to the provincial court to sentence.
