Man Detained more than 3 Years in $ 15US Robbery

Kandal Province: The Kandal provincial court has held the hearing of a suspect, who was detained more than three year. The court decided to hold the accused Rien Meoun, 27, on Octomber 7, 2005 after he was charged with robbery. Rien Meoun with other three men attacked a 19-year-old teenager, known as Chan Somnag, at around 6:30 on April 5, 2005, taking 15 US dollar from the victim Chan Somnag and later on they were arrested one after another. After the long temporary detention, on Octomber 15, 2008 the court sentenced only three men, and continued to detain Rien Meoun. Accouding to a source, the long detention is due to the loss of his document, involving to the case.
