Migrant Broker Arrested

Phnom Penh: Russey Keo district police on Friday (27-08-10) stopped a van, arresting a broker, who is accused of illegally transporting about 60 migrant workers to work in Thailand through Koh Kong checking point. Police said that the broker known as Hea Vuth, 35, lives in Bar Tey village, Bar Tey commune, Prey Veng province’s Sithor Kandal district. Among the to-be-migrant workers, 12 (13 to 17 years old) are minor. The broker was questioned and sent to the Phnom Penh Municipal court, while the migrants were released. Koh Santepheap Daily
