New data books a one-stop shop for local governance planning
Monday, February 01, 2010
Phnom Penh: H.E. Sar Kheng, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, will launch Cambodia’s district and provincial data books on Wednesday, 3 February 2010, and you are cordially invited to attend the event.
The National Committee for Democratic Development (NCDD) at sub-national level under the Ministry of Interior has developed the data books to provide useful information to assist policy-makers and development planners in implementing democratic reform at the local level.
The data books contain a comprehensive set of information about geography, demography, natural resources, poverty, infrastructure, economy, education, development plans and projects, and existing services and organisations in 185 districts, 23 provinces and the Capital Phnom Penh. To date, such information is only available through scattered sources and could be retrieved only at high costs.
