Officials Burn down 180Kg Imported Pork

Koh Kong Province: 180kg of pork, which imported from Thailand, had been arrested and burned down by veterinary officers, working with checking point police officers on 4 Jan 2007. The imported pork was wrapped and hid with other vegetable in a cart, crossing the Cambodia-Thai checking point. The owner of the prohibited pork was not found after the searching, official said. Before they imported pork or eggs at night, but after police have been strict with them, they imported them at daytime instead. Phun Livirak, Chief Koh Kong province agriculture department said that at the present time prohibited goods from neighbor countries decreases considerably after the professional officials have cracked down on the case.
