PM Sends a Letter to UN Council Security

Phnom Penh: Government leader Prime Minister Hun Sen on Monday sent a letter to the UNESCO president Koichiro Matsuura, informing that Thai violation of Peah Vihera pagoda in Preah Vihear temple area by deploying hundreds of troops. On July 15 Thai soldiers invaded Cambodia’s territory and until July 21 the invaded situation has deteriorated because Thai side has stationed and brought in cannons, tanks and the increasing of the number of Thai troops. The tension happened shortly after Preah Vihea temple was listed as a world heritage sit on July 7, 2008, the letter says.
