Police Arrest 8 Sex Workers and a Brothel Owner

Rottanakiry Province: After receiving a warrant, anti-human trafficking police cracked down on a brothel in Ban Long district’s Laban Siek commune on 24th December. Eight prostitutes and their brothel owner were arrested in the action, Rottanakiry provincial police said on Thursday. The brothel served sex service openly, police added. The eight sex workers were sent to the social affairs department of Rottanakiry and the brothel owner was sent to court one day after the arresting. There are 10 brothels in Rottanakiry province and this considered the first time that police cracked down.
