Police shot 4 robbers in defense

Prey Veng: 4 armed robbers shot on police while police were checking the weapons, but the police shot in return killing 4 robbers at the clashing site.The incident happened at 9 in the evening of 23th April 2007 in Russey commune, Sithor Kandal district, Prey Veng.
Yin Soneth, police inspector at Sithor Kandal police station said that in the evening of 23th April 2007, while police were checking the weapons, there 4 men on a motorcycle driving near checck point. Suspected with the four men, police stopped them to check, but they jumbped down from the motor to escape and shot on the police. In defense, police shot in return killing all the four men.
Yin Soneth said that the four men were the robbers, they planned to rob on that day but did not because they were killed.
