Report on Cambodian civilians killed by Thai military

1. On July 03, 2008 at 3pm, a group of black Thai military shot at a group of 10 Cambodian civilians, while they were walking pass the Cambodia-Thai border in Toul Prasath village, Poi Pet commune, Ochhrov district, Banteay Meanchey province. At the time, 2 people were injured and killed. The names of the two victims are (1) Ith Orn ,19 years old male, he was shot two times and died on site, and (2) Chea Phal, 6 years old male, shot in the head and died in the arms of his father while he ran to the Cambodian border. According to the investigation, this group of people came from Kampong Tham province to look for employment in Thailand.
2. On July 11, 2009, Ly Bunthorn, a 37 years old male, who lived in Tamnop Akphywat village, Osvay commune, Trapaing Prasath district, Oddor Meanchey province, crossed theCambodia border to look for employment in Thailand. He was shot dead by the Thai militaryat Cham Pika called Cham Bokoung. Trapaing Prasath district, Oddor Meanchey province.
3. On August 20, 2009, Monh Pak, a 25 years old male, living in Prak Ream village, Chhrey Bak commune, Rolea Pha Ear district, Kampon Chhnang province, left his home to look for employment in Thailand. He lived temporarily in Tamnop Akphywat village, Osvay commune, Trapaing Prasath district, Oddor Meanchey province before he crossed the border at Kbal Okhsach, Sisa Ket province where he was shot dead by Thai military.
4. On September 11, 2009, Saing Rith, a 16 years old male, who lived in Krouch Sakhon village, Sangat Konkreal, Samroung city, Oddor Meanchey province, crossed the border and entered the Thai territory to cut trees. He was accompanied by some of his friends. Thai soldiers shot at them and caused serious injuries to two people which were (1) Saing Rith and (2)Moav Khleng. Saing Rith was then arrested by Thai military and they burned him alive. He died on site. Moav Kleng escaped to Cambodia and he was able to report his execution to his friend's family and to Human rights organizations.
5. On September 11, 2009, Sim Bunchhin, 31 years old male, living in Samround village,
Kdeoung Reay commune, Trapaing Prasath district, Oddor Meanchey province, entered the Thai territory to cut trees at Oriyeang, Kabchheung district, Sorin province, Thailand. He was with 5 other people. At that time, the Thai military shot him and caused him serious injuries. He managed to escape to Cambodia where he died in a hospital.
6. On November 27, 2009, Sok Samnang, a 19 year’s old male, living in Akphywat village, Sangat Osmach, Trapaing Prasath district, Oddor Meanchey province, entered the Thai territory with 4 other people in order look for food in the forest, such as fungus or animals, Thmar da, Kab Chheung district, Sorin province. The 5 men were shot at by the Thai military but only Sok Samnang was wounded and died on site.
7. On December 05, 2009, Meas Sam Onn, a 19 years old male, living in Sre Laor village, Bak Anloung commune Trapaing Prasath district, Oddor Meanchey province, entered the Thai territory with 10 other people enter to look for employment as loggers in Dong Rek mountain at Veal Basok, Khanda Lak district, Sisaket province. All of them were shot at by the Thai military, causing serious injuries to Meas Sam Onn which was then arrested by the Thai military. According to private investigation, the victim died in Thailand.
8. On December 08, 2009, Plok Lay, a 52 years old male, living in Sre Laor village, Bak
Anloung commune, Trapaing Prasath district, Oddor Meanchey province, crossed the borderinto Thailand with 8 other people to look for employment as loggers. The group was shot at by the Thai military, which caused the victim serious injuries. He was then arrested by theThai military and he died in Thailand.
9. On December 19, 2009, Phorn Sarith, a 48 years old male, living in Reay village, Reay commune, Chhouk district Kampot province, left his home to stay at Srak Chhrey village,
Trapaing Prasat commune and district, Oddor Mean Chey province. He and 3 other men entered the forest at the border to cut tree in Prolean Resey Sisa Ket province, Thailand. They were shot at by the Thai military, causing the victim to die shortly after the Thai authorities brought his body back to Cambodia.
10. On January 19, 2010, (1) Chem Chheat, 34 years old male, living in Kandeang district
Pusat province and (2) Earng Oeun, 19 years old male, living in Osvay village-commune,
Trapaing Prasat Oddor Mean Chey province, entered Thailand to work as loggers. They were arrested by the Thai military and were later declared dead. Thai authorities brought the two bodies to be burned in a pagoda in Thailand. There is no information as to how the victims died and if they were indeed in the custody of Thai authorities when they died. ADHOC
