Rice Tree Cutters find a Rotted Corpse in Rice field

Kampongspeu Province: A 14-year-old girl, who was missing for more than a month, found her body in a rice field at 1:40pm on 28 December 2007 in Bor Seth district’s Tuol Ompil commune. The orphan victim known as Ven Komsoth lived in Angkor Ngieng village with her adopted parents, villager said. The village chief Nhoem Kim said that Neang Doeurn, victim’s adopted father, did not tell him about the disappearance of the girl until her corpse found. Local Police said that the Neang Doeurn had been ever detained for raping the girl, but lacking of proof, police set him free. The case is under the investigation, local police said.
