River Bank Fall kills a Boy, Injures Another

Kandal province: A boy was immediately died and another was critically injured in a fall of river bank. The event happened in the morning at 7:40a.m along the bank of Basac River in Number 5 village, Svay Brarteal commune, Sar Ang district, Kandal province.
The boys' family said that the both boys are cousins. When they were in the mud of the river bank fall, no one saw them. At the time a neighbor lost a cow. When the neighbor was seeking the cow, he saw a boy was moving in the mud. Suddenly villagers tried to dig to get the boy out and after spending one hour to dig, they found another dead boy.
Villagers said that the river bank fall seems to cause by sand pumping because now authorities agreed with businessmen to pump sand in several places especially the place by the scene. They are pumping every day without thinking of hardship of the poor.
