Phnom Penh: Rock music (EMOTIONAL TRUTH AND RAW INTENSITY: PUNK IS NOT DEAD) is on Friday at seven pm. Punk rock is a rock music genre that developed between 1974 and 1976 in the USA and UK. “DEGENERATION PUNK” by Claude Santiago covers three very influential years in the shaping of punk rock: From 1976-1979 it was emerging as a solid genre, standing apart from the fuzzed out garage rock that came before it. This video documents the bands that pushed the button: The Clash, Generation X and The Dead Boys (1997, 57mins). Don Letts' documentary “PUNK – ATTITUDE” examines the politics, fashion and music of “Punk”, featuring performances from a variety of famous musical acts including Black Flag, The Ramones, The Stooges and New York Dolls (2005, 89mins).
