Sihanuoukville: Tourists rise, traffic accidents decrease

According to local newspaper (Reaksmey Kampuchea), the number of tourists to Sihanoukville rises during the Khmer New Year while the traffic accidents decrease compared to the previous years.Som Chantha, director of Sihanoukville tourist department said that there were about 2,000 cars came to Sihanoukville per day, so there were about 40,000 tourists came to Sihanoukville during the 3 days of Khmer New Year.
There were 8 traffic accidents in the 3 days of Khmer New Year mostly caused by the drunk drivers. However, the traffic accidents have decreased compared to the same time in the previous years.
