October 7, 07: Hygiene situation in Cambodia is worst comparing to other countries in the region, said Mr. Chreay Pom, deputy president of Rural Sanitation Department of Rural Development Ministry. “Now Cambodia’s hygiene situation is being taken care very least from relevant ministries,” he claimed.
Cambodian people only 16 percent have capability to use clean toilet while Lao has 30 percent, Indonesia has 55 percent, 77 percent in Burma and Brunei and Singapore has 100 percent of overall population. Due to this situation his ministry plans to host a national conference for this issue and to declare 2008 is the year of hygiene in Cambodia.
