Storm with Rain Destroys 15 Houses in Kandal Province

Kandal Province: At least 15 wood or bamboo houses with zinc and palm leaves or straw roofs were destroyed by a strong storm in Loeuk Dek district, Kandal Province at 7:00 pm on 20 June 2007.
Eyewitness Ven Brach lives in Prek Touch village, Loeuk Dek district’s Prek Dach commune, Kandal Province said that there was a strong storm blowing on the village while the rain was falling down. The natural accident shocked every one in the village.
Some villagers who had run-down small homes went away, but others who had strong ones stayed in nervously. Some houses fell down; however, others just collapsed its roofs besides, some trees were rooted by the strong storm too. The disaster also caused a man serious injury, he added.
