The Garment Workers Strike in Eussey Keo district

Phnom Penh: About 400 workers of Chin Yov garment factory, in Tra Pang Chhok village, Toek Thlar commune, went on strike against the factory’s working conditions on 5 December 2007. The workers said that they were on strike in order to be against the freedom pressure of the factory governor, and demand 14 points of working conditions. The factory has not followed the labor legislatives and the announcement of the ministry of labor. The administrator has forced the workers to work extra hours on Sunday, and national holidays. If they did not do, they wound be warned and cursed, the workers added.
