The Number of Traffic Accidents Increase 21% in April 2008

Phnom Penh: The number of traffic accidents increase 21 percents in April this year comparing to last year’s April especially during Khmer New Year between 12 and16 of April, 920 wounded and 62 died. There are more than two thousand victims of traffic accident that are 715 victims got seriously injured and 176 died, said report, which collected from hospitals, private clinics, and traffic police national wide. In Phnom Penh city in April of 2008, there were 502 victims, and only 10 percent of them wore helmets, the report says.
