Third Year Student jumps from Chroy Chang Var Bridge

Phnom Penh: Norton student committed suicide by jumping from Chroy Chang Var Bridge at 8:30pm on 28 December 2007 in Eussey Keo district after his widow girl friend refused to marry him. The jumping man was not found. His girl friend Yi Soeurn, 24, is the garment worker and the victim Ieng Sovanareth, 25. Yi Soeurn said that his boy friend always asked her to get married, but she did not agree with him by waiting until he graduated. Fortunately, while police were questioning her, her mobile phone rang. She answered the phone and she was very surprised because the caller was her boy friend, who tried to swim towards land and took motor taxi to home.
