Three Provinces of Cambodia Accessible Electricity from Thailand
Wednesday, December 05, 2007
Thailand has shared its electricity to three Cambodian’s provinces- Banteay Meanchey, Battambang and Siem Reap. People in Poi Pet town are happy with the cheap-price electricity provided from Thailand. Mr. Put Sopak, head of electricity branch of Banteay Meanchey, said that Banteay Meanchey province has been accessible to Thailand’s electricity since November 25, 07. The electricity has 115 kilowatt and works 24 hours. Its price is 1200 Riel which is the same to the price of Cambodia’s.
“When it could work better, the price would go to 100 Riel,” Sopak added. Electricity system in Ou Prasat commune was not appropriately set. It was set by unskillful electricians. Sometimes the amount of electricity jumped over the right amount. The Cambodia’s electricity side plans to dismantle these no technical connection.
