Two Die, Seven Seriously Injured in Crack Down of Police

November 15, 07: Two people died and other seven seriously injured in a crack down of police after those villagers from Oucher Tiel area, Sra Am village, Cham Ksan district, Preah Vihear province had extended their protest on land abuse for five days. At about 8:30am, police went to crack down on them while they were cutting log to block road with their materials such as axe, machetes and also weapons in their region.
Mr. Kao Lung, Cham Ksan district’s governor, said that he would not go on to resolve this land dispute because he had provided a solution to the people but they could not accept. An officer said that villager group had two AK riffles so police and authorities shot back to protect themselves.
And for Mr. Meas Sareoun, provincial deputy governor, was decided by Judge Chiv Keng to temporarily arrest after hearing on November 14.
