UPDF Verified its Working Results and Targeted Plan for 2012

Phnom Penh: In 1998, having seen poor people had trying their best to establish their own communities, create a fund raising to support each other in their small carriers, the Capital Hall had signed on the Memorandum of Understanding with Mrs. SOMSOOK Booyabancha, Secretary General of ACHR (Asia Coalition for Housing Rights) to set up Urban Poor Development Funds (UPDF) by receiving fund from Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padie Techo HUN SEN, H.E Governor KEP Chuk Tema, Cambodian Red Cross and other private companies, thus that fund had been gradually increased aiming to help in poverty reduction in Phnom Penh. Then, on April 21, 2000, the Capital Hall also announced the new board director of UPDF.
In the morning of December 28, 2011, at the Capital Hall, there was a wrapped up meeting to verify the working results of UPDF and to set the action plan for 2012 with presence of Mr. NUON Someth, Deputy Governor of Phnom Penh.The main topics discussed during that meeting include:
•    Previous working activities
•    Fund sources
•    Expenditure
•    Credits (Housing, carriers, salt fishes, land, agriculture, transportation and saving); and among 228 communities consisting of 13,549 members have kept their saving in UPDF.
•    Repayment
•    Communities building
•    Working procedure
•    Discussed on the revised MoU between the Capital Hall and ACHR for UPDF 2012.
